My heart is broken that I could not be with my dad at his passing. Even harder not being mentioned as his only surviving daughter, mother of Nicholas, Ciara, Daniel and Enrique. The pen is always mightier than the sword and I paid my respects with head held high as I was asked to leave. Thank you. Tamara Lynn Ruiter

Doty,
I just learned of John's passing and I wanted to let you know that I am thinking of you and the children in my prayers. Let me know if I can help out in any way, especially with Ricky and Daniel.
I'll miss seeing John's smile here at Cedar Street. Monica

I've always fondly recalled the trips to "Uncle" Joe and "Aunt" Doty's farm when I was a child. He was a real stand-up guy. You have my deepest condolences.

Mr. Ruiter was a large part of my summers as a boy, he has helped define who I am today. I am a better person for having known him. He will be greatly missed.

My deepest condolences to the family. John was a long standing person in our town, and always there to help when help was needed. He probably knew every person in Paw Paw. I for one have and will continue to miss working with him as we start another season for the Crop Walk here in Paw Paw. He was one to know just what we needed with out being asked. God Bless the family and know he will be missed by many.

The Ritsema family has known John and Doty for quite some time. When John and Doty first came to the Paw Paw area, they rented the
farm house from Ben Ritsema which was right next door to them on
52nd Avenue. They lived there for
a number of years until they were
able to purchase a home of their own. The Ritsemas and their 3
sons became very good friends with
John and Doty, and remember the
special times during that time.
John will certainly be missed by
all that new him, he was a wonderful and thoughtful person
who knew how to have fun and smile.
Are thoughts and prayers are with
Doty and the family.

We were both sorry to see John's obituary in the paper today. He was a fun part of our days in high school and we still have the photos he gave us.
Please accept our sincere condolences for your loss.
