HENRY WAS ONE OF MY BEST FRIENDS SINCE 1983 WHEN I JOINED A CO. 156 SIG BN.[CA]. ALL THAT TIME I DON'T THINK WE EVER GOT P.O.ed AT EACH OTHER. 'CEPT IN 88 OR 89 WHEN THE DETAIL HENRY WAS IN CHARGE OF, DROPPED THE 70 FT. ANTENNA ON THE CABS OF MY 2 1/2 TON TRUCK AND TIM WEST'S TRUCK, SMASHER BOTH [WINDY RIDE BACK FROM GRAYLING]. TIM AND I HAD TO DO THE PAPER WORK [CAUSE IT'S YOUR TRK, SEZ HENRY]. THEN HENRY WAS AWARDED THE ARMY ACHEIEVEMENT MEDAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!P.O.ed? YES. WE LAUGHED ABOUT THAT FOR YEARS. YES, HENRY WAS MY FRIEND,BROTHER, AND THE GUY I WANTED TO DO ANYTHING WITH. HE WAS VERY SPECIAL, AND I HAVE LOST A PART OF ME. HENRY, I LOVED BEING YOUR FRIEND. GOD, WATCH OUT FOR HENRY, BECAUSE HE WILL DO HIS THING, THEN SMILE, AND SAY"WHAT". SSGT. PHILLIP R. TAYLOR, MI. NG. RET.

I worked at Lake Center Elementary back in 1996-1998. Henry was a good friend of mine and everyone at Lake Center enjoyed his upbeat personality, his laughter, his dedication to doing things the right way and always helping anyone who needed it. I am in HR now and I just hired a great guy that put Henry's name down as a reference. It gave me the opportunity to call Henry and catch up. He told me about his grandkids and how much fun they were and I told him about mine. I am so glad I got to talk to him - and I am so sorry for your loss. May God grant you peace at this time and always. I will be praying for all of you...

It was an extreme pleasure knowing you and working with you for all the years at Portage Schools. We talked alot and shared our combat experiences in Viet Nam, the good times, the crazy times, and all the bad ones too. It was an honor to have you as a friend and a fellow "Brother in Arms" I will miss you my friend. Larry Born
