I consider it a privilege and honor to have been under the leadership of Bro. Barclay as I was growing up. He was my pastor for 15 years at First Baptist and I have had the pleasure of visiting with him since his retirement whenever he visited Fairdale Baptist. He and I share the same birthday, May 17. With Christian love, Richard Johnson

What wonderful memories we have of Brother Barclay. He came to Silsbee FBC when I was a teenager. His gentle nature and thoughtful sermons helped shape my life. On Feb. 24, 1956, he married us in the sanctuary of the brand new FBC. We always enjoyed visiting with him when we returned to Silsbee over the years while he was still there. His spiritual influence in the Silsbee community was deep and long-lasting. He truly was a great man of God, and now he has joined my father, mother, brother and many more of his Silsbee friends in a wonderful, joyous heavenly reunion.

Bro. Barclay will certainly be missed. I remember so many fun times growing up in FBC, Silsbee. I sometimes borrow a phrase that he used to use in his sermons..."And people, that's not coincidence; that's Providence!" There are many other memories I cherish from growing up in his church. Many include his family, too. My parents sing his praises so often, and they are well-deserved! My prayers are with you during this difficult time.

Elizabeth, Frances, and Jan my thoughts and prayers are with each of you during this time. Oh what wonderful memories I have of growing up under your father's watchcare at First Baptist Silsbee. Although I am saddened at his passing, I joyfully celebrate his life and legacy truly as a "man after God's own heart." He will always be "my pastor" and words cannot express the depth of my heartfelt love for your father. His teachings and influence have continued throughout my life to help me become the man that God would have me to be. My love to you all, Tommy

A man of God after Gods own heart is how I would discribe Bro. Barclay. Perfect in the flesh, no but in God sight yes, because he was a blood bought child of the King. Bro. Barclay oficiated in my
wedding in 1963 and over these years I have seen a faithful man of God serve with dedication and perserverance. Steady was Bro Barclay. To Elzabeth, Frances, and Jan I lift you up and pray. I also rejoice with you on his home going to be with his precious Savior the Lord Jesus Christ. Thanks again David for letting me know.

We add our sentiments to the long list of those who have known, loved, and been influenced by Bro. Barclay and Agnes. Among the many churches they served faithfully is Parkway Baptist on Lake Rayburn. His memory is very much alive here even now. We rejoice in his homegoing while we, like so many, will miss him.

I count it as blessing to have known Bro. Barclay for well over have of his 94 years on this earth. I was there when he preached his first sermon as pastor of FBC, Silsbee, and I was at the service when he retired in 1980. He came to Silsbee doing the Lord's work and now he has left us to do the same.
What a legacy he has left for his family and friends.
