Paul Richenel Loe Click for Condolences      Printable Version
1964 - 2009

Paul Richenel LoePaul Richenel Loe, age 45, of Silsbee, went to be with his Lord on June 29, 2009, after a very courageous battle with cancer.

Paul was born in Trinidad, West Indies to Kenneth and Hermena Loe on April 30, 1964. Paul was married to Diane Piepenhagen Loe on April 18, 1986 in Beaumont. During their marriage they lived together in Whitby, Ontario, Canada and Port of Spain, Trinidad before moving back to Texas to reside in Silsbee. Their marriage blesses them with two beautiful children Dezrae and Lucas who have learned so much from their amazing father.

Paul graduated with highest honors from Centennial College and received a degree as an Interprovensial Service Technician License from Canada. Paul worked at Cowboy Chevrolet for a brief time before his illness.

Paul was a wonderful wood craftsman. Some of his work was carving small pieces out of teak such as dolphins. He spent the last year building many beautiful tables, chairs and mailboxes out of cedar giving great joy for those who he loved.

Paul will always be remembered for his gift of making friends. Paul had Tourettes Syndrome so many people he met were afraid to get to know him, but those who did found a lifetime friend. That was very evident when Paul found out a few weeks ago that he had just a small time left here before he went home to heaven, he received phone calls from friends all over the world. Each person that Paul met will remember his humor and laughter, how much he loved life even when handed the most difficult situations, and how much he loved his family.

Paul was preceded in death by his father Kenneth Loe. Paul is survived by his wife Diane, children Dezrae and Lucas Loe. He is also survived by his mother Hermena Loe, of Port of Spain, West Indies: brothers Mark Loe and wife Nicole of Port of Spain; Gregory Loe and Catherine of Port of Spain; sister Marlene Pires of Port of Spain.

He is also survived by his in-laws John and Andrea Piepenhagen; Gale and Terry Daigle, Judy and Charles Castillo, Bill and Charlotte Piepenhagen and a host of nieces and nephews.

Paul will be missed by all his family and friends. Paul fought the good fight, he finished the race, he kept the faith.

A celebration of Paul's life will be held at St. Marks Catholic Church Thursday July 2, at 3pm

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Texas Home Health Hospice.

The family would like to thank the staff at UTMB and Texas Home Health Hospice for their loving care of Paul.

What a beautiful obituary! Paul, my cousin, had a very loving heart. My family had the privilege of having Paul live with us for a year as a child so that he could have access to the Boston medical community -- it was during that precious time that I learned what a gift Paul was to all of us. His broad smile was genuine. May you finally rest in the peace and love you so richly deserve. Blessings to Diane and the children, and to Aunty Hermena, Mark, Gregory and Marlene, and the Piepenhagen's. I only wish I could have been with you all yesterday. Love, Annette

You and your family are in our prayers. You are one of the most awesome people I have ever met...with all of the troubles you have been dealt you have handled everything with such GRACE AND DIGNITY. You will never know how much I admire your faith and your strength. I know you will miss Paul terribly but the love you and him shared was truly a gift from God. You have cared for him and I have seen the Love in your eyes for him and your children ever since I've known you. You have such an awesome support team to help you and for that you are truly blessed. I am so thankful that I got to know Paul, and his wonderful humor. "Happy Friday" and "It's hump day" just the way he said it was hilarious. He was a wonderful husband, father and friend he will truly be missed by all of us. I love you Diane. Your frend

My thoughts and prayers have been with you Diane since I met you and learned of Paul's illness. God places people in our lives to help carry the burdens and that have experienced the pain that you are feeling. My heart aches for you because I have been where you are. Take one moment at a time, give yourself time to grieve and heal. God will get you through this, cry to him and let him carry you through this devastating season. Celebrate Paul's life and always remember the happy times. Paul is healed, whole and no longer suffering and he will live on in your heart and all who knew him. You will see him again, when your purpose of this earth has been fulfilled and God takes you home.

Although too short a time knowing Paul, he has left a footprint on my heart forever. I know Our Lord will give all of you the strength to grieve for a while but to move on with your life as Paul would want you to as he watches over and takes care of you. Love you all and always remember I am here if you need. JJ
