
Funeral services for Joseph Whitney Gaspard, 87, of Lumberton will be 10:00 am Tuesday at St. Mark's Catholic Church in Silsbee with interment to follow at Memory Gardens in Nederland under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Monday at the funeral home with rosary at 6:00 pm.
Mr. Gaspard died July 17, 2009 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.
He was a native of Kaplan, Louisiana and a longtime resident of Silsbee before moving to Lumberton. Joseph proudly served his country during WWII with the Army Air Force. He was a retired plant engineer with U S Steel in Port Arthur. Joseph was a member of St. Mark's Catholic Church in Silsbee and a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus.
Joseph was preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years Lydia Kaufman Gaspard. Survivors include daughters Diana Cox and husband Rodney of Port Arthur, Sandra Bailey of Lumberton and Lorna Wade of Bridge City; sons David Gaspard of Lumberton and Marshall Gaspard of Houston and three grandchildren Carly Palombo, Christopher Cox and Shelby Wade.
