Richard Gordon Click for Condolences      Printable Version 1936 - 2009 Funeral services for Richard Gordon, 72, of Silsbee will be 2pm Friday, July 24, 2009 at Farmer Funeral Home with internment to follow at Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will begin 5pm Thursday at the funeral home. Mr. Gordon was born to Charley and Minnie Gordon on August 8, 1936 and left to be with his loved ones on July 22, 2009. He was a lifelong resident of Silsbee. Mr. Gordon was a retired pipefitter for Pipefitters Local 195. He was a member of Good Shephard Baptist Church where he served as a deacon; he was also a member of Masonic Lodge # 927 of Silsbee and The Scottish Rite temple of Galveston. Mr. Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, brother Charles Gordon and great grandson Dylan Gipson. He is survived by his wife of 52years Velma Creel Gordon of Silsbee; three daughters, Maria Loukas and husband Steve of Beaumont; Sondra Jo Battle and husband Ricky of Silsbee; Penny McDonald and husband Benton of Silsbee; 13 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and many others who called him "PaPaw". Special thanks to Fresenius Dialysis Unit of Beaumont and staff of CVICU St. Elizabeth.

I was sorry to hear of Richards passing. I will always remember the Christian fellowship we all had at Good Shephard Baptist Church .

Velma, Maria Ann, Sondra Jo and Penny, I am so sorry to hear about Richard's death. Mother called this a.m. and told me of his passing. I am praying for each of you in your loss. Velma,I was so sad to hear that Richard had passed on.I have a lot of fond memories of Richard and I on the paper route. He was A great man and will be missed.
