Funeral services for Jimmy Welton Whiteside, 77, of Silsbee will be 4:00 pm July 26, 2009 with internment to follow at Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will begin 5pm Saturday at the funeral home.

Mr. Whiteside was a native of Honey Island and long time resident of Silsbee.

Mr. Whiteside died July 22, 2009 at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont.

He was a retired Supervisor from the Sawmill and served in the Army during the Korean war.

Survivors include daughter, Tammy and husband Ed Lindsey of Keller, Tx; sons, Hal Whiteside of Houston; Matt Whiteside and wife Colleen of Kingwood; five grandchildren, Aaron Lindsey, Bryan Lindsey, Caitlin Whiteside, Megan Whiteside and Justin Whiteside and the mother of his children, Florene Whiteside.
