Ms. Mrya Jo Abercrombie McCollum Collins, age 68, of 545 Old Jacksonville Rd., Buchanan passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2004. Ms. Collins was born in Haralson County on April 27, 1935. She was the daughter of the late Mr. J.P. Abercrombie and the late Mrs. Vesta Brooks Wilkerson. Ms. Collins was a retired Certified Nursing Assistant.
Survivors include two daugthers, Mrs. Tammy Johnson of Buchanan, and Ms. Tracie McCollum of Bremen; five sons, Mr. Jeffrey McCrary of Buchanan, Mr. Jerry McCollum of Scranton, PA, Mr. Randy McCollum of Muscadine, AL, Mr. Barry McCollum of Bremen, and Mr. David McCollum of Cartersville; two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Williams of Bremen, and Ms. Shirley Deering of Waco; eighteen grandchildren; one great grandchild; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, February 6, 2004 at 3:00 P.M. from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with Rev. George Pike and Mr. Allen Williams officiating. Music will be rendered by Rev. Buddy Gentry. Interment will follow in the Buchanan City Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Barry McCollum, Ricky Johnson, Tom Marlow, Joshua Johnson, James Johnson, and Brian Robinson.
Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
