1920 - 2004
Mr. John B. Williams, age 83, of Tallapoosa passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2004. Mr. Williams was born in Cleburne County, Alabama on August 6, 1920. He was the son of the late Mr. George F. Williams and the late Mrs. Lera Hutcheson Williams. Mr. Williams was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during World War II and a retired meat cutter.
Survivors include one daughter, Ms. Sandra Mosley of Tallapoosa; one son, Mr. Eugene Williams of Tallapoosa; two step-daughters, Mrs. Wilma Campbell of Bremen and Mrs. Frances Campbell of Bremen; two step-sons, Mr. Carroll Newman of Tallapoosa and Mr. Ivy Newman of Tallapoosa; thre sisters, Mrs. Beatrice Witcher of Tallapoosa, Mrs. Pauline McClain of Tallapoosa, and Mrs. Irene Witcher of Carrollton; three brothers, Mr. Walter Williams of Bremen, Mr. Frank Williams of Indiana, and Mr. Bobby Williams of Bremen; three grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, March 12, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. from the Riverside Baptist Church with Rev. Larrice Patterson officiating. Music will be rendered by Mrs. Angie Davis and Mrs. Linda McLarty.
Interment will follow in the Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Mike Williams, Tim Williams, Dean Williams, Kyle Parker, Matthew Parker, and Douglas Campbell.
Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
