1930 - 2004
Mr. Hubert Sears Gilmer, age 73, of 2627 Browning Rd., Rockmart passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2004. Mr. Gilmer was born in Douglas County on October 3, 1930. He was the son of the late Mr. Clarence Leverne Gilmer and the late Mrs. Dessie Clayton Gilmer. Mr. Gilmer was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Irene Maddox Gilmer.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Wanda Gay McElroy of Bremen; six sons, Mr. Hubert J. Gilmer, Mr. Kenny C. Gilmer, Mr. Clarence L. Gilmer, Mr. David P. Gilmer, and Mr. Jackie L. Gilmer all of Rockmart, and mr. Ricky N. Gilmer of Bremen; and a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and other relatives.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, April 9, 2004 from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with Rev. Harold Hatcher officiating. Music will be rendered by Rev. Buddy Gentry. Interment will follow in the Friendship Primitive Baptist Church.
