Mrs. Zela Beatrice Harrell McDowell, age 81, of 4687 Hwy. 27 North, Buchanan passed away Saturday, June 5, 2004. Mrs. McDowell was born in Polk County on April 15, 1923. She was the daughter of the late Mr. William David Harrell and the late Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Hiett Harrell. Mrs. McDowell was a retired from the Arrow Shirt Company. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Harrell McDowell and Barry McDowell.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Marcella M. Lampsakis of Kingston, WA; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Shiela McDowell of Buchanan; four sisters, Mrs. Eunice Weaver and Mrs. Gladell Shackleford both of Rockmart, Mrs. Opal Lowery of Spokane, WA, and Mrs. Imogene Womack of Georgia; two grandchildren, Mrs. Lara Quesada of Bremen and Miss Leigh McDowell of Buchanan; two great grandchildren, Miss Micaela Quesada and Mr. Cole Quesada both of Bremen; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, June 7, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. from Fellowship Baptist Church with Rev. Merle Barron officiating. Music will be rendered by Rev. Buddy Gentry. Interment will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Steve Allen, Larry Allen, Larry McDowell, Billy Weaver, and Dewey Weaver, Jr.
Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
