Mr. Will Cheatwood, age 76, of 3217 Hwy. 120, Tallapoosa passed away Tuesday, November 2, 2004. Mr. Cheatwood was born in Haralson County on September 1, 1928. He was the son of the late Mr. John Daniel Cheatwood and the late Mrs. Minnie V. Sanders. Mr. Cheatwood was a veteran of the United States Army and was retired from the Arrow Shirt Company. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Jennie Ruth Lance and Jewell Wells.
Survivors include is wife, Beatrice Truett Cheatwood of Tallapoosa; one daughter and son-in-law, Betty Jean and Greg Brock of Waco; three sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Wanda Payton of Cedartown, Ricky and Belinda Payton of Buchanan, and Randy and Julie Payton of Buchanan; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Etha Belle Bentley of Waco, and Kathleen Bill Davis of Huntsville, AL; one brother, Mose Cheatwood of Buchanan; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, November 3, 2004 at 3:00 P.M. from Tabernacle Baptist Church with Rev. Buddy Gentry and Rev. Jason Hudgens officiating. Music will be rendered by Rev. Buddy Gentry, Joy Wade, and Steve Dycus. Interment will follow in the Tallapoosa-East Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Jonathan Payton, Craig Payton, Shane Payton, Russell Cooper, Andy Lance, and Brad Bradley.
