Terry Eugene Deering, 44, of Huntington, W.V.,passed away Monday, May 10, 2004 at his home following a brief illness. Terry was born March 5, 1960, in Ashland, K.Y., a son of Alex Deering of Huntington and the late Janet Johnson Deering. In addition to his mother, he was predeceased by a sister, Stephanie Deering. Terry was employed in the production department of The Herald-Dispatch from May, 1996 until the time of his death. Most of his life was spent in Huntington, where he attended Lincoln Junior High School and graduated in the 1996 class of Huntington High School. In addition to his father, Terry leaves behind to mourn his loss two brothers and a sister-in-law, James and Anna Deering of Florida and Timothy Deering of Huntington; one sister and brother-in-law, Jeanne and Sherron Lewis of Fredericksburg, VA.; and an aunt, Louise Minor of Huntington. Funeral services will be conducted for Terry Eugene Deering at 1 p.m. Friday, May 14, 2004, at Callender Funeral Home, Huntington, with the Rev. Roy E. Terry officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 13, 2004, at Callender Funeral Home.
