.jpg) William "Buff" Walker, Jr., was born June 22, 1940 in Logan County, West Virginia, and passed away peacefully to his Holy resting place July 13, 2004 in St. Mary's Medical Center. He was in the 1957 graduating class of Douglas High School. A honorary member of the Black Legends of Marshall University and a loyal Marshall supporter. He was honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps were he served as an honor guard. Bill was retired from Owens-Illinois and Marshall University and was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was a sports history buff and could provide endless statistics about local and national sports. He served as commissioner of the Scott Community Center Summer League. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother and father Mardra Knaff and William Walker, Sr. and his devoted son Chris Morrow. He is survived by his lovimg wife Aleetra, three daughters; Genine Trim and Melissa Jackson both of Columbus, OHIO, and Stacy Morrow og Huntington, WV. Two grandchildren; Anthony and Christian Morrow. Two brothers; Larry Knaff of Pittsburg, PA and Tyrone (Becky) Walker of Sandusky, OH. Two sisters; Renee King of Columbus, OH. andTrudy (Don) Ward of Cleveland, OH. Siater-in-Law; De (David) Morrow-Perry of Fort Gay, WV. He is also survived by his step father; Melvin Knaff and a special aunt, Betty (Buster) Thompson, many faithful and loving friends including Wayne Harless, Son Jackson, John Dotson, Tom Gordon and Chuck Gordon. A host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Three special caregivers; Delois M. Perry, John Dotson and Wayne Harless. Funeral services will be 11:00AM Friday, July 16, 2004 at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Franklin Murphy, Officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00AM until the time of the service at the church. Just wanted to send some love to the family. I no longer live in Huntington, I can remember him running up-down Scott Center refreeing the games. Peace be multiply to the family.
