Elmo Carter, III, 51, of Huntington, WV. Through the grace and mercy of God, Elmo was released from his long years of suffering on August 7, 2004 at St. Mary's Medical Center. He was born May 5, 1953 in Huntington, WV. A son of the late Elmo, Jr. and Katherine McGee Carter. Elmo attended public school in Huntington attending Lincoln Elementary and Lincoln Jr. High before suffering his debilitating injuries. He is survive by his brother and sister-in-law Willis and Mary Ann Carter of Huntington. Niece Shatara Smith, two great nephews Louise and Mark. Two special aunts and uncles; Ardella and Walter Blake, Ruth Ewing and Nathaniel Hopkins, along with a host of loving cousins and other relatives. Also to mourn his death are Deborah and Lorenzo Jones who were his caretakers fo 15 years and had a special relationship with Elmo, along with many friends fron GreenAcres. Funeral services will be 1:00PM Wednesday, May 11, 2004 at Youngs Chapel AME Church with the Rev. Samuel Chambers, officiating. Private burial will be Monday, May 16, in Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington. Friends may call fro 11:00AM until the time of the service at the Church. The care and services for Mr. Carter have been intrusted to Callender Funeral Home, Huntington.

we were so sorry to hear about Elmo. Judy always loved taking care of him and visiting. she mentioned him quite often after she moved to Spokane before she passed. Now she and Elmo can sit and chat all the time now.
