
Celia Walker, of Boomer, WV, was born April 4, 1905 in Bessemer, Alabama, daughter of the late Charlie and Sallie Green. She passed away peacefully, Sunday, July 18, 2004 while residing at Montgomery General Elderly Care. She was a beautician for many years. Upon moving to Smithers in the late 1940’s she immediately became a member of First Baptist Church, Longacre, which is now First Baptist Church, Smithers. Celia was active in her church where she was a member of the choir and Willing Workers Club, secretary of the Sunday School and Missionary Society while involved in many different functions in the church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clemmie Walker and brother, Robert T. Green. She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Patricia Callender and husband Ronnie, of Charleston, WV, Irene Lewis Kinder and husband John, of Huntington, WV, Four grandchildren, Addison and Allison Hamilton, Johnathan and Danielle Kinder, Great-granddaughter Jasmine Hamilton, Cousins, Savannah Grant of Morris Drive, WV, Mary Carter Smith, of Baltimore, MD, nephew, George Johnson, of Kimberly, WV and her special caregivers at Montgomery General Elderly Care who treated her like family. She had many faithful and loving friends including Lila Groom and family, Ruby Fairfax, James Crews and everyone at Montgomery General Elderly Care.
