1952 - 2006

The journey of life began for Moses Hornbuckle on April 14, 1952 in Logan County, West Virginia. The third son born to the late Reverend Edmond Hornbuckle, II and Lucille Stephens Hornbuckle. He was baptized at the Zion Baptist Church, Madison, WV at a young age and received his early education in the public schools of Logan County graduating from Logan High School in the class of 1970. He went on to continue his education at Siegler Institute, Silver Springs, MD. Graduating in the class of 1972. Moving to Huntington in the early 1970’s he met Patricia James with whom he united in marriage on June 28, 1980. To this union two children were born, Sean and Kara. Moses was employed as a computer Analyst at the Corp of Engineers and the Federal Building in Huntington. He also worked as a systems operator at BASF before beginning his career at Ashland Oil Company from, which he retired in 1997. In addition he sold insurance on the side. Moses was good with his hands and mind. He could rebuild, do body repairs and paint cars. Moses could fix anything, if it needed it or not. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, cooking, traveling with his family and arguing with people. On Thursday, March 23, 2006 at 3:15PM, the journey, which began fifty-three years ago, came to an end, when Moses was called to join his father and other family and friends who had preceded him in death. He leaves to cherish his memories: His wife, Patricia, children Sean and Kara. Sister Jacqueline, brothers, Fred (Joyce), Edmond, III (Jeannetta), Michael (Leigh Ann), Keith (Anita) all of Huntington. Jerome (Quandora) of Dunbar, WV and William Hardy (Earlene) of Denver, Colorado. Aunts; Annie Mae Ward (John), Marion, Al. Jennie Flanaigan (Dave), Bessemer, AL. Katherine Stephens, Uniontown, AL. Josephine Stephens and Betty Stephens, Fort Wayne, IN. Uncles; Gospia Pryor, Detroit, MI. and George Brown, Birmingham, AL. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces and great nephews and friends. The Celebration of Life will 1:00PM Wednesday, March 29, 2006 at the First Baptist Church, with the Reverend Paul F. Willis, officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call form 11:00AM untill the time of service at the church. The family will receive friends at 12:00Noon.

Our deepest sympathies to all of the family for the loss of Moses Hornbuckle. Not only was he a patient of Bill's but a friend.
