Maude  HardwickMaude Ellen Hardwick 79, of Louisa, Kentucky passed away Friday February 28, 2003 at Three Rivers Medical Center after a brief illness.

Mrs. Hardwick was born on May 13th, 1923 in Lawrence County, Kentucky. A daughter of the late John and Laura Hanners Vaughan,

She was a Retired Manager with Cox’s Department Store in Louisa, and a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church of Meades Branch, and the Rebekah Lodge of Inez.

Mrs. Hardwick was preceded in death by her husband George Hubert Hardwick and two sons Don Harold Hardwick and Jimmy Wayne Hardwick.

She is survived by one son Larry Hardwick and his wife Thelma of Louisa, Kentucky, a daughter-in-law Barbara Hardwick of Louisville, Kentucky, three granddaughters Valarie Hardwick Hardin Scaggs of Louisa, Kentucky, Vanessa Hardwick Pfeiffer and her husband Brett of Louisville, Kentucky and Valetta Hardwick Browne and her husband Wesley of Richmond, Kentucky, four great0grandchildren Logan Alexander “Alex” Hardin and Rachel Brooke Hardin of Louisa, Kentucky, Barrett Vaughan Allen Browne of Richmond, Kentucky and Slone Madeline Pfeiffer of Louisville, Kentucky five sisters Mildred McGimpsey of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mary Lammers and Virginia Booth of Maryville, Tennessee, Maxine Morgan of Holbrook, Arizona and Easter Wellman of Fort Gay, West Virginia and one brother Wayne Vaughn of Louisa, Kentucky

Rev. Jamie Thornsberry and Rev. Ric Frazier will conduct funeral services at 11:00 am Monday March 3rd at Wilson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery Louisa, Ky. Friend may call from 2:00 to 9:00 Sunday at Wilson Funeral Home Louisa, Ky.

Larry and Thelma and family, So sorry for your loss. I always remember Maude working at the old Bargain Store. She was always so jolly and treated everyone so nicely. You will be in our prayers. God Bless, Charlotte and Fred Coffey
