Reverend Trigg McCoy passed away Monday April 28, 2003 in Louisa, Ky. He was 83 years old. Trigg was born April 12, 1920 in Pike County Kentucky, the son of the late Ella Blackburn McCoy and Wendell McCoy.
Reverend McCoy was a member and long time Pastor in the United Baptist Churches of Old Zion for over 50 years. Elder Floyd Kirk baptized him in the early 1950s. Trigg never saw a stranger and he had been a long-time resident of Martin County years ago.
At age 17 he volunteered to serve in the 3C’s and was stationed in Idaho, and from there he was sent to Bardstown, Kentucky. He worked in the underground coal mines for many years until his retirement.
His parents and his first wife Annie Marie Moore McCoy to whom he was married for 52 years until her death in 1994 precede him in death. A son Paul Daniel McCoy also preceded him in death.
Survivors include: Wife Anita Webb McCoy of Louisa, Ky.
Sisters: Ida Belle Davis of Inez, Ky., Tennessee Moore and Irene Blevins both of Ohio.
Children: Ruth E. Muncy of Columbus, Ohio, James Millard McCoy of Pilgrim, Ky., Betty F. Muncy of Pilgrim, Ky., Lloyd McCoy of Tomahawk, Ky., and Bonita Compton of Lexington, Ky.
As well as a number of Grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday May 1st at 1:00 pm at Wilson Funeral Home by Revs. Tim McCoy, Jerry McCoy, and Kevin Davis. Burial will follow in the Yatesville Memorial Gardens at Louisa, Ky. Friends may call after 6:00 pm Tuesday April 29th and after 4:00 pm Wednesday April 30th at Wilson Funeral Home.
