Deloris Faye Graves Click for Condolences      Printable Version
1931 - 2004

Deloris Faye GravesDeloris Faye Hensley Graves 72 of Georges Creek went to be with the Lord Tuesday March 2, 2004 following an extended illness.

Faye was born April 14, 1931 in Lawrence County Ky. the daughter of the late Eugene and Leona Miller Hensley.

She married Lindsey Arch Graves on July 26, 1957. Her life was dedicated in love and devotion to her family. Her primary goal in life was to make her home a place of refuge from the world for her husband, children, and grandchildren.

On April 8, 1970 she gave her heart and life to the Lord and later joined the Belle's Chapel Freewill Baptist Church where she remained a faithful sister in Christ until the time of death. After her illness began in April 2003, she was unable to attend as she once had but her faith in God never waivered. Often during her final days she'd remind her children and grandchildren she'd wait for them in Heaven.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lindsey Arch Graves who died in 2002.

Faye is survived by a daughter Kathy Robertson of Ulysses, Ky. A son and daughter-in-law Gary and Shanna (Susie) Graves of Sitka, Ky. 4 Grandchildren Tonya (Norman) Hayes, Sarah (Steven) Bellomy, Joshua Graves, and Megan Rose Graves. A great grandson Chet Bellomy. 2 Sisters Nellie Holloway of Mansfield, Ohio and Hattie Williams of Louisa, Ky. A brother Eugene Hensley Jr. of California.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm Saturday March 6th at Belle's Chapel Freewill Baptist Church by Rev. Willie Hayes, Rev. Rick Cordial, Rev. James VanHoose and Rev. Jim McKenzie.

Burial will follow in the Graves Cemetery at Georges Creek.

Friends may call after 6:00 pm Thursday at Wilson Funeral Home and after 12:00 noon on Friday until time of service at the Church.
