Owen Maurice Young Owen Maurice Young 89 of Lowmansville, KY passed away Friday morning of an extended illness at Kings Daughters Hospital in Ashland, Kentucky. He was born February 19, 1921. He was born in Lawrence County Kentucky to the late Thomas Monroe Young and Shirley Nelson Young.

Our beloved father and grandfather went to heaven to be with the Lord Friday morning. Mr. Young was retired from Armco/AK Steel in 1982 after 38 years of service. He served in the Army with the 86th Division of the 13th (Black Cat) Tank Battalion in World War II, he was a 32nd degree Mason, Scottish Rites, and a Shriner. He was a member of the Walnut Grove Freewill Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife Vivian Young, his son Harold Young, his brother Otto Young and his parents.

He is survived by 1 daughter and 4 sons, Diana Kersey (Greg Wheeler), Don Young (Shirley), Bob Young (Connie), Rick Young (Susie), and Dean Young (Marie). Daughter in law Cora Franklin, 15 Grandchildren, 27 Great Grandchildren, and 3 Great Great Grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted on Monday April 26th at 1:00 pm at the Walnut Grove Freewill Baptist Church by Rev. James Vanhoose. Burial followed in the Young Cemetery at Lowmansville, KY.
