Joan Wheeler Smith Click for Condolences      Printable Version 1961 - 2010 Joan Marie Wheeler Smith 49 of Fayetteville, NC formerly of Lawrence County passed away Tuesday May 25, 2010. Joan was born April 25, 1961 at Bethesda, MD the daughter of the late Homer Carl and Helen Fox Wheeler. She was a employee of Purolator Inc. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Smith. Survivors include two daughters Chanda Marie Wheeler and Georgie Leann Smith both of Fayetteville; five brothers Frank, Ronald, and George Wheeler all of Louisa, KY, Michael Wheeler of Palm Bay, FL, and John Wheeler of Lawrenceville, GA; a sister Judy McBride of Blaine, KY. Funeral services were conducted on Saturday May 29th at 11:00 am at the Wilson Funeral Home with interment in the Greenlawn Cemetery at Louisa.

My heart and prayers goes out to your family.I have only known Joan for a few years and I want you to know that she was the most kindnest and caring person I had ever met. She showed so much compassion to my grandmother (Lula Mae Baker) and she will never be forgotten for that. God bless each one of you during this tragic time. With love, Mitzi
