Oh, my, I hated to hear about Earnest! He was a dear friend and neighbor. I always looked forward to him bringing green beans and tomatoes from his garden because he had extras...his talks while I worked at the post office filled a long day. He knew so much about the community. He told me many things about my ancestors that I cherish deeply. I remember one incident particulary...my half sister passed away and she lived in a few counties over. I didn't even know that he knew her (and maybe he didn't) but I remember looking up and there he was!! That was a comfort to me...he came for us. I'll always have my memories of him and it's going to really be hard for someone to fill his shoes! I love all of you and if you ever need us, please call... and always his last words were "come back and see us" even when at other churches. I plan on doing that some day! Sue & Homer Lee
