1922 - 2011
 Lafayette (Lafe) Marcum 88 of Fort Gay, WV passed away Saturday January 1, 2011 at his home following a brief illness.
Lafe was born April 13, 1922 at Stone Coal, WV the son of the late Joseph and Eliza Herald Marcum. He was a retired coal miner and welder at ACF Industries, and a member of the Freewill Baptist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife Evadean Ison Marcum, three daughters and son-in-laws Deanna and Tom Caudill of Fort Gay, Arlene and Tom Ellis of Pikeville, KY, Vicki and Scott Naugle of Louisa, KY; three sons and daugters-in-laws Billy Joe and Barbara Marcum of Fort Gay, Lafayette Jr. and Chris of Michigan City, Indiana, David Wayne and Anita Marcum of Grove City Ohio; three sisters Stella Marcum and Callie Payne both of Grove City and Carol Gearhart of Columbus, OH; 13 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandson.
Funeral services will be conducted by ministers Lafe Marcum, John Henry Stevens, and Danny Collier on Tuesday January 4th at 1:00 pm at the Wilson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Marcum Family Cemetery at Hewlett, WV. Friends may call from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm Monday January 3rd at the Wilson Funeal Home.

LAFE AND EVADEAN OPENED THEIR HEARTS AND HOME TO US AS BEING PART OF THEIR FAMILY,NEVER HAVE WE BEEN SO ACCEPTED WITH OPEN ARMS.THAT IN ITSELF IS A TESTAMONY TO THE LOVE AND DEVOTION TO EACHOTHER AND EVERY ONE AROUND THEM.LAFE WILL FOREVER BE IN OUR HEARTS AND PRAYERS. GOD BLESS LAFE MARCUM.

Dear Daddy, as you most likely know. Tom and I was omitted from the roll call, of your funeral service yesterday. John mistakenly over looked our names on the list. You and I know, that someday when we stand before the almighty GOD, we will not be over looked, or omitted in that roll call. There will be no mistakes made there. I miss you Daddy and LOVE you so very much.. I'm so sorry!!
