Margaret Mae Stephenson, 84, of Sidney and formerly of De Graff, died at 4:30 PM Tuesday, August 10, 2010, at Triumph Hospital, Lima.
She was born in St. Marys on May 2, 1926, a daughter of the late Charles Edward Sr. and Cynthia Casperson Spicer
On June 16, 1957, she married William Virgil Stephenson in Quincy and he preceded her in death April 13, 1981. She also was preceded in death by five brothers, Damon Spicer, Alva Spicer, Wilbur Spicer, Eugene Spicer and her twin Major Ray Spicer, who died in infancy.
Survivors include two sons, Mark Stephenson of Sidney and Craig (Tammy) Stephenson of Kingston, Tennessee; seven grandchildren, Eric Stephenson and Alex Stephenson, both of Sidney, Samuel Stephenson, Kaleb Stephenson, Lucas Stephenson, Elisha Stephenson and Matthew Stephenson all of Kingston, Tennessee; a brother, Charles (Marilyn) Spicer, Jr of Sidney; two sisters, Shirley (James) Hillier of Maplewood and Zelna (Warren) Sprague of Jackson Center.
She graduated from Quincy High School in 1946 and Ohio Northern in Ada.
An elementary school teacher, she taught at Montana, Rosewood, Pemberton and Riverside Local, from where she retired.
She was a member of the DeGraff United Methodist Church, the Retired Teachers Assoc., and the Logan County Senior Citizens. She enjoyed gardening, crafts, sewing and reading.
Pastor Carolyn Christman conducts a service at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 14, 2010 at the Rexer-Riggin-Madden Funeral Home in DeGraff, where calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, August 13, 2010. Burial is in the Greenwood-Union Cemetery, DeGraff.
The family suggest memorial contributions be made to charity of the donor's choice.
