 Gerald Alfred(Jerry)Streeper,80, beloved father, grandfather and brother of Jasper passed away November 19, 2011 in Humble, Texas. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 22, 2011 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Forest Oaks Funeral Home. Services will be Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Forest Oaks Chapel with interment to follow at West Oaks Cemetery.
Jerry was born June 2, 1931 in Atchison, Kansas, to Fred Selwyn Streeper and Bessie Mae Swendson. He joined the U.S. Navy after graduating from Wyandotte High School in Kansas City, Kansas. He met and married his beloved wife of 58 years Katy Florine Christman, while he was stationed at Kingsville Naval Air Station, Texas. He graduated from Texas A&I with a degree in Industrial Arts. Jerry enjoyed woodworking, history, and working at his church, Curtis Methodist Church, and making repairs. He retired from teaching after many years at Jasper High School.
He is preceded in death by his parents and wife Katy. He is survived by his children Cathleen Everett of Austin, Tx., Gerald Streeper Jr. & wife Denise of Atlanta, Ga., Carolyn McQueen of Jasper, Tx., Kimberly Ingle& husband John of Humble, Tx., and Nancy Parten of Houston, Tx.; his sister Marilyn & Leo Becker of Lone Jack, Mo., Betty & Frank Smith of Houston, Tx., Karen & Don Ruby of Houston, Tx.,and In-laws Lola & George Crawford of Woodville, Tx., and Harvey Adams of Harlingen, Tx. He is also survived by nine grandchildren David Lee Everett, Gina Willis, Clayton McQueen, Brian McQueen, Randy Sessums, Katy Sessums, Nathan Streeper, Allyson Streeper, and Evangeline Parten, 4 great grandchildren Audra, Cole, Damien, and Cooper, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. I was sorry to hear of his passing. He was my 9th grade History Teacher. My favorite quote of him was "Moving On Rapidly" He used it many times in class. I graduated in 1989. He will be missed.

My prayers are with your family at this time.
Mr. Streeper was my high school history teacher and I really liked him. He was always fair and very entertaining. He really had alot of patience with us and if every class was like mine that is saying something. Our class could have tried anyone's patience.
Thank you for sharing Mr.Streeper with me. He made one hour of my day very entertaining and bearable.
