
Cotton Bennett passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, TX on Thursday, August 23, 2012. Visitation will be Friday, August 24 from 4:00 until 5:00 p.m. with services beginning when visitation is over at 5:00 p.m. Cotton was born on September 24, 1932 in Simpson, LA to Elmer and Gertie Bennett. He lived in Simpson, LA for 23 years, moved to Beaumont, TX and drove a city bus. He moved to Jasper in 1968 and drove a truck for Visador, Louisiana Pacific, McWaters Trucking, G.P. Burrous and Fleetwood where he retired at the age of 75 in 2007. Cotton loved life, he loved hunting and fishing with his sons and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife Carolyn Lindsey Craig Bennett of Jasper, TX sons Glendon "Cooter" and wife Stacey Bennett of Jasper, TX, Terry and wife Beverly Craig of Bronson, TX, James and wife Dixie Craig of Jasper, TX, Steven and wife Tammy Craig of Jasper, TX, Nathan and wife Cathy Bennett of Bon Wier, TX and Lonnie Bennett of Michigan, daughters Glenda "Punkin" and husband Aaron Coxen of Jasper, TX, Tina and husband Wyndell Ford of Bronson, TX, Brenda Sharp of Beaumont, TX and Sharon and husband B. Terrell of Beaumont, TX, sisters Joyce Parker of Simpson, LA and Janet and husband Carroll Landrey of Nederland, TX, 22 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
