 Calvin A. Ford 86 of Jasper died at his home on Monday October 1, 2012. Funeral services will be held on Thursday October 4, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in Forest Oaks Chapel with interment to follow at the West Oaks Cemetery in Jasper, TX. Visitation will be at Forest Oaks on Wednesday October 3, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A native of San Augustine County, TX. he served his country in the U.S. Army as a member of Company L 232nd Infantry Division during WWII. A lifelong resident of Jasper he was retired from International Paper after 34 years as a Forester. Survivors include a daughter Martha Merritt of Jasper, TX. a son Charles H. Ford of Lufkin, TX. three grandchildren Rick, Joe and Teresa four great grandchildren Nick, Blake, Riley and Joseph as well as two great great grandchildren Nicole and Leland. We are deaply sorry for your loss and he will be greatly missed. He was a wonderful man. He would stop in by us out of the blue just to say hi with tinker and tell us more of his wonderful stories. He was a very blessed man and he will not be forgotten.
