1933 - 2012
 Barbara Bauknight Seale, 79, died at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont on Sunday, October 14, 2012, after a courageous battle with disease that went on for many years.
She was born on June 18, 1933 in Galveston to parents Dr. James M. Bauknight and Margaret Mingus Bauknight. She grew up in Ganado, Texas, and graduated at age 15 as valedictorian of Ganado High School. Then she graduated from the University of Texas with a B.S. in chemistry at age 19. In her senior year she met John H. Seale and they were married on December 19, 1953. She and John lived in Austin until he graduated from law school in 1955. They then lived in Angleton, Texas from 1955 until April 1957, when they moved to Jasper where they have lived ever since. Four wonderful children and eight tremendous grandchildren have meant so much to Barbara and John.
She is survived by her husband, John H. Seale, her four children, Steve Seale and his wife Marty, of Jasper, Charlotte Seale of Lufkin, Shelley Seale Gatlin of Houston, and Shane Seale Foster and her husband John, of Davidson, North Carolina, her grandchildren, Lauren Seale Cole of College Station, Texas, Emily, Maggie, and Anna Seale all of Jasper, Harrison Gatlin of Houston, and Miles, Parry, and Sheridan Foster all of Davidson, North Carolina, sister Carol Bauknight Bishop of Victoria,Texas, brothers Dr. Bruce Bauknight of Victoria, Texas, Jim Bauknight of Houston, and "foster son" Gary Gatlin of Jasper, nieces, nephews, and many, many dear friends.
The funeral will be at Jasper's First United Methodist Church on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. under the direction of Forest Oaks Funeral Home of Jasper, with visitation to follow at the Frank Ealand Hall of First United Methodist Church.
The family is so grateful to the doctors, Jasper Kidney Center, medical providers, and the caregivers Wanda Latham, Mary Lakey, Charlotte Hunter, Betty Kennebrew, Geneva Birdlong, and Tosha Jones.
