My sincere condolences to the Swearingen family. I knew the family as I was also born in Newton and went to school there for several years. Many knew me by my nickname "Emmy". May God give strength to the family in this time of great sorrow.
God Bless - Charles Cooper.

So very sorry to hear of Herbert Van's passing. He was a good man. We were just talking about the baseball days with the boys here recently. One thing about Herbert Van, he never done anything half way. He was a go getter. He will be greatly missed.

To the Family, very sorry for your loss.
H.Van will be missed, he was one of a kind.
I have known him since the old days of hunting in the river bottom and most recent hunting on another lease with him. What good memories. Over 40 + years of knowing and enjoying H V's friend ship. I feel privileged to have known him.
