1932 - 2012
Naomi E. Cunningham 79 of the Sam Rayburn Community died Saturday December 22, 2012. Private services were held at Sam Rayburn. A native of Folsom, West Virginia she moved to Sam Rayburn from Spartenburg, SC. in May of 2005. Naomi was a incredible woman with an independent spirit and heart of gold with a sunny optimistic nature.. She married the man of her dreams, Thomas Westley Cunningham, at the young age of 15. They spent the next 65 years together working hard and raising children. Naomi had more love to give than any woman could wish for and shared with Tom, four children, twelve grandchildren and twenty four great grandchildren. She never backed down when times were difficult; her support and love got her children through many of life's crisis, joys and successes. Brother Dearl Mayfield. Her children Jeffery Thomas Cunningham, Kenneth Alan Cunningham, Sherry Jane Naomi Green, Gregory Wayne Cunningham and spouses will forever cherish her loving memory and feel blessed to have called her Mom. She will be missed forever. Our hearts are breaking with the dawn. We don't see a way to carry on. Our sweet Mother Naomi, Laid down her burdens too heavy, And to Heaven she was gone. We feel so all alone. Oh, but think of her joy. To see Jesus and Greg, her boy, And those she loved who went before Were here waiting at Heaven's door! Though she left us today We almost heard her say "Hi Hon" to those she once loved. And someday when we, too, go that way With joy we will once again hear her say, "Hi Hon" Condolences can be posted at www.forestoaksofjasper.com
