James David Groh
Wheelersburg-James David Groh, 74, of Wheelersburg, passed away Thursday, February 9, 2017 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth, Ohio. James was born May 24, 1942 in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Ralph and Mildred Gleim Groh. He was employed as a welder for Custom Steel, a member of Faith Baptist Church and a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He was also a Kentucky Colonel and Silver Rose. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Call.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Johnson Groh, whom he married June 6, 1970 at Mt. Hope Freewill Baptist Church. He is also survived by two sons, Jason (Lois) Groh and Jay Groh and a grandson, Matthew Nichols.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg, Ohio with Pastor Bryan White officiating with interment to follow in Wheelersburg Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 -7:00 pm, Monday, February 13, 2017 and one hour before the service on Tuesday.
