Anna Mae Cartee
FRANKLIN FURNACE-Anna Mae Cartee, 85, of Franklin Furnace, Ohio passed away Monday, January 18, 2021 at home with family and friends present. A native of Scioto County, Ohio, the daughter of the late Albert Roof and Josphine Mitchell Roof of Sciotoville, Ohio, Anna Mae was a homemaker and mother of four children. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and outdoor sports, but most of all she enjoyed playing with children. Anna Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Leon Cartee; a daughter, Regina Ann Cartee Picklesimer of MI; a son, Stanley Leon Cartee of Poplarville, MS and three brothers, Wilford Roof, Ernest Roof, Stanley Roof and five sisters, Bertha Adkins, Rose Johnson, Olive Wright, Margaret Monnin and Mary Sizemore. She is survived by two sons, Michael Dean Cartee (Kathi) of Franklin Furnace and Ralph Anthony Cartee (Pam) of Portsmouth; one brother, Harold Roof of Dayton, Ohio and a daughter-in-law, Debbie Polk Cartee of Poplarville, MS; ten grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank everyone and especially the SOMC hospice team for the great care they have given Anna Mae over the years and a special thank you to Linda Charles. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Anna Mae’s memory to SOMC Hospice Center, 2203 25th Street, Portsmouth, OH 45662.
Services for Anna Mae will be 1:00 pm Friday, January 22, 2021 at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg. Interment will be in Vernon Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, 11:00 am until the 1:00 pm service hour. COVID restrictions require masks and social distancing.
