William “Bill” Edward Johnson
IRONTON-William “Bill” Edward Johnson, 82, of Ironton, passed away Friday, March 12, 2021 in Ashland, KY. Bill was born March 9, 1939 in Scioto County, Ohio Furnace to the late Walter Johnson and Sarah Ethel Johnson. Bill was employed as a Blueprint Operator at Ironton Coke and he was also an Independent owner/operator truck driver; he served in the Marine Corp and was a member of Franklin Furnace Independent Baptist Church. Bill was an avid gardener, loved his family and loved to hunt when he was able. In addition to his parents Bill was preceded in death by siblings, Charles Johnson, Chester Howard Johnson, Opal Hamilton, Lena Stone and Della Bennington. Bill is survived by his wife, Ethel Darnell Johnson, whom he married April 14, 1962 in Wurtland, KY. He is also survived by two daughters, Teresa Johnson and Sandra (Donald) Harmon; a brother, Walter David Johnson; a sister, Ruby Stone; five grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Services for Bill will be 7:00 pm Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg with Dr. Dennis Hankins officiating.
