
James Craig Carver, II
WHEELERSBURG-James Craig Carver, II, 48, of Wheelersburg passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth. James was born October 3, 1972 in Portsmouth to James C. Carver and Sherry (Simon) Carver. James was a member of Local #577 Plumbers and Pipefitters; the Sciotoville Boat Club and St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church. He was also a member of the 1989 Wheelersburg State Championship Team and he was an avid fisherman of the Outer Banks of NC. James was preceded in death by a brother, Joey Carver and his grandparents, Sam and Mary Margaret Simon and James and Geneva Carver. In addition to his parents, James is survived by his soulmate, Brittany (White) Carver, whom he married November 2, 2017 in Las Vegas, NV; a son, Graysyn Stamper; four daughters, Lilly Carver, Hailey Carver, Maysyn Stamper and River James Carver; a brother, Jared Carver and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Mass of Christian burial for James will be 10:00 am Saturday, July 3, 2021 at St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church with Fr. Joseph Yokum officiating. Interment will be in St. Peter Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg, 7:00-9:00 pm Friday, July 2, 2021 with recital of Rosary at 8:30 pm.
