Jerry Leonard Mowery
WHEELERSBURG-Jerry Leonard Mowery, 76, of Wheelersburg, passed away peacefully, holding his children’s hands, at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. Jerry was born March 31, 1945 in West Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Bert Mowery and Hazel Wallace Mowery. Jerry was a Vietnam U.S. Army Veteran and he was Commander of American Legion #471. He was employed as a pipefitter and belonged to the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local #577 union. In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by three brothers, Jack, Dick and Ron Mowery and a sister, Wanda Mowery. Jerry is survived by his wife, Sharon Kay (Jones) Mowery whom he married July 5, 1969 in West Portsmouth, Ohio. He is also survived by two sons, Ty Harding Mowery and Chad (Brandy) Mowery; two daughters, Lana (Chris) Clark and Rachelle (Jon) Collins; a brother, Clyde Mowery; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Services for Jerry will be 11:00 am Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg with Pastor Aaron Reed officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Burial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 5:00-8:00 pm Monday, and one hour before the service on Tuesday. Military graveside honors for Jerry will be conducted by James Dickey American Legion Post #23. Condolences to the family may be made at www.harrison-pyles.com.
