Richard Lee Jackson
WHEELERSBURG-Richard Lee Jackson, 90, of Wheelersburg, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth. Richard was born June 11, 1932 in Ona, WV to the late Phillip Cecil Jackson and Ellen Lucille Davis Jackson. Richard was employed as an Operator for the former Cyclops/Empire Detroit Steel Corporation in New Boston. He was a member of Wheelersburg Baptist Church and he was an avid Wheelersburg Pirate fan. Richard was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Richard is survived by his wife, Fay Griffin Jackson whom he married May 21, 1966 in Ona, WV. He is also survived by two sons, Owen Lee (Diana) Jackson and Brian Allen (Becky) Jackson; a daughter, Deborah Plueckhahn; a sister, Rosemary Walker; six grandchildren, Richard (Rhonda) Fiske, Tiffany Fiske, Ashley (Eric) Dingus, Brandon Jackson, Drew Jackson and Peyton Jackson and seven great grandchildren.
Services for Richard will be 11:00 am Friday, September 9, 2022 at Wheelersburg Baptist Church in Wheelersburg with Pastor Brad Brandt officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Burial Park. The family will receive friends and family 6:00-8:00 pm Thursday, September 8, 2022 at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg and at the church one hour before the 11:00 service on Friday.
