Clarence Eugene Riley “Buddy”

WHEELERSBURG-Clarence Eugene Riley “Buddy”, 71, passed away Sunday, October 9, 2022 at his home. Buddy was born October 17, 1950 in Portsmouth to the late Jesse Franklin Riley and Vida Geneva Wolfe Riley. Buddy was retired as a conductor for CSX Railroad. He was a Navy Veteran and a member of American Legion James Dickey Post #23. In addition to his parents, Buddy was preceded in death by two sisters, Judy Cooper and Brenda Scott and two brothers, Jesse Riley Jr. and Dennie Riley. Buddy is survived by his wife, Lorena Pentheny Riley; four sons, Clarence Riley of Lorain, Josh Riley and Jesse Riley both of Cincinnati and Shane Jordan of Wheelersburg; three daughters, Jordan Riley of Cincinnati, Cathie Jordan of Minford and Khristey Henderson of Alabama; a brother, Bobby Riley of FL; three sisters, Lena Louise Riley Henderson of Lorain, Marie Johnson and Joyce Riley of Cincinnati; three grandchildren, Alana, Lilian and Jonah and his best friends, Dougie Tackett, Tim O’Dell and Beth Goodman.

Services for Buddy will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg. Interment with American Legion James Dickey Post #23 Military Rites will follow in Memorial Burial Park. The family will receive family and friends at the funeral home Wednesday, 11:00 am until the 1:00 pm service. Condolences to the family may be made at www.harrison-pyles.com.

Buddy was a great friend I met while serving in the Navy, the last time I saw him in person was in 2009 with Tino in Norfolk, Va., but we talked on the phone 4 or 5 times a year, we had a lot of great times, he will be missed.

Buddy always had a smile on his face and loved to tell jokes. He was a great guy and he will be missed.

Buddy was a part of my life for 42 years, and we shared 3 wonderful children together. He will be forever missed and thought of often.
