 Karen Leona Sloas Risner
WHEELERSBURG-Karen Leona Sloas Risner, 70, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 25, 2022. Karen’s services will be under the direction of Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg, Ohio on Saturday, October 29, 2022 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm. Karen was born February 18, 1952. She married Bob Risner on July 2, 1970 and had 52 wonderful years together building a family. They had two children, Chris (Melinda) Risner and Kevin (Angie) Risner, three grandchildren, Cheyenne, Christen and Cody Risner whom she loved more than anything else. She shared her home, her food, her resources and her soul to family, friends and anyone in need. Karen was an EMT at Portsmouth ambulance when she was inducted as a Kentucky Colonel, an honor bestowed to a select few who exhibit strength of character, leadership and dedication to the welfare of others. She also enjoyed her time volunteering and dispatching at Porter Township Fire Department. She made many friends over the years, whom she considered family. She helped raise half of the Wheelersburg Community for two generations, where they knew her as “Mom” and Mamaw.” She enjoyed dancing, quilting, baking and loved to take care of others. Karen loved her music LOUD and her Mopars FAST. She will be missed terribly but remembered ALWAYS by all that knew and loved her. Condolences to the family may be made at www.harrison-pyles.com.

The earthly world has lost the very best photographer, she documented multi-generations of our Risner clan. Karen was a devout Christian and one of the best cooks. She will be missed by all. Heaven has gained a perfect and funny Angel! ??????
