Helen Ruth Knappenberger
WHEELERSBURG-Helen Ruth Knappenberger, 80, of Wheelersburg, passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at SOMC in Portsmouth. Helen was born January 8, 1943 in Ashland, KY to the late Herman Wesley Wente and Mary Messer Wente. Helen had been employed in the housekeeping department of the former Greenbriar Healthcare Center and was a member of Lily Chapel Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Knappenberger whom she married October 17, 1972 in Portsmouth. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Billy Wente; her sisters, Dorothy Cornwell, Shirley Piquet and Bernice Klauser and a granddaughter, Brittany Nicole Knappenberger. Helen is survived by her sons, Tim (Tammy) Knappenberger and Mark (Charlene) Knappenberger and a granddaughter, Chantel Knappenberger.
Services for Helen will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg with Mike Lemon officiating. Interment will be in Vernon Cemetery.
