Gary Stephen Doerr,76, of Wheelersburg, Ohio passed away July 12th at OSU Medical Center.
Born May 11th 1949 to the late John Edward and Therese Ann Doerr. Gary was a 1967 graduate of Portsmouth High School and also attended Notre Dame Schools. Gary served four years in the US NAVY as a Radioman third class. He served a combat tour in Vietnam deploying aboard the USS Newport News. His decorations include the Combat Action Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal. Gary was retired from Martin Marietta where he worked as a computer draftsman. He is a member of St Peter in Chains Catholic Church.
In addition to his parents, Gary is preceded in death by his loving wife Connie Susan Doerr and sister Suzette Pauline Doerr.
He is survived by his son Bryan(Michael) Doerr and the greatest joy of his life his grandsons Taylor(Kasey), Casey, Sammy and Jaxon Doerr, and great granddaughter Isla Doerr.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 Thursday July 17th at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg.
A catholic funeral mass will be held at 11:00 Friday July 18th at St.Peter’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Memorial Burial Park.
