Charles Wesley Bobst, 90 of Wheelersburg, Ohio, passed away peacefully on
July 11, 2025, with his beloved wife Martha and children by his side.
Charles (Charlie) was born on June 15, 1935. He was the son of the late Floyd
Everett Bobst and Helen Locke (Goddard) Bobst. In addition to his parents, he is
preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Lee Bobst and Roy Fredrick Bobst.
He has two surviving sisters Janet Ruth Bobst Campton, McClellan (Bill) of
Harrison, Ohio, and Helen Arlynne (Trig) Bobst Maddox (Don) of Portsmouth,
Ohio.
Charlie retired from the N&W/N&S Railroad with over 40 years of service. He
was of Methodist faith. He also was life long member of the Portsmouth
Masonic Lodge.
Charles is survived by his wife of 68 years Martha Jane Schweinsberg Bobst
whom he married in 1956. They have one son and two daughters. Charles
(Chuck) (Denise) Bobst of South Webster, Ohio. Debra (Randy) Graves of
Hebron, KY, and Cindy (Bob) Rudmann of Ironton, Ohio.
There are seven (7) grandchildren whom he loved dearly. Megan Graves (Matt)
Moss of Cincinnati, Ohio, Devon Graves (Pierre-Charles) Rupin of Paris, France,
Grace Graves (Rory) Pitt of Australia. Adam (Neala) Rudmann of Cincinnati,
Ohio, Andrea Rudmann (Lovell) Medcalf of Ironton, Ohio. Michael Bobst of
Wheelersburg, Ohio, and Whitley Bobst (Josh) Wright of South Webster, Ohio.
Charlie has 17 great grandchildren who knew him as papaw Charlie and Choo
Choo Pap. William, Lilyjo, Esmee’ Rupin of Paris, France. Samuel, Magnolia, and
Isaac Moss of Cincinnati, Ohio, Loretta Pitt of Australia, Trey, Bella, Mia, Olivia
Medcalf of Ironton, Ohio, Jack Rudmann of Cincinnati, Ohio, Wesley, Layla Bobst
of South Webster, Ohio, Charlie, Gunner Wesney, Anne-Kate Wright of South
Webster, Ohio. He also has many nieces and nephews whom he also loved
dearly.
Charlie loved spending time with his family enjoying wood working in his shop,
fishing with the boys, family picnics, bowling back in the day and serious card
playing with his family. He attended grandchildren’s activities including all
sports, dance and piano recitals and school plays. He enjoyed it all.
Services for Charles will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday 7-19-25 at Harrison-Pyles
Funeral Home in Wheelersburg, Ohio. The family will receive friends and family
at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home Friday 7-18-25 from 6-8. Services will be
conducted by Samuel Frazie.

such good care of dad especially these last couple of weeks. And a thank you
