
Jayne Adams Gaspich, of Sylvania, Ohio, born December 13, 1931, passed away peacefully October 16, 2025 in Toledo, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and Arthur Adams, her husband, Dr. Keith Gaspich, her sister, Joye Newberry, her daughter, Kathy DeFoe, and her grandson, Matthew DeFoe.
She is survived by her daughters: Michele Elliott (Mike) of Sylvania, Ohio and Kristyn Allen (Charles) of Marysville, Ohio. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Mark DeFoe (Angie), Meredith Campbell (Jason), Megan Sizemore (Jon), and Charles and Chase Allen . Additionally, she leaves behind her great-grandchildren: Matthew DeFoe, Mya, Ava, and Lincoln DeFoe, and Jack and Zoey Sizemore.
She spent several years teaching elementary school, before retiring to devote her life to taking care of her family. Jayne was an active member of the New Boston United Methodist Church for over 50 years, where she taught classes and served in many leadership roles. She was known for her beautiful singing voice and sang in church choirs since she was 12 years old. Later in life, she moved to Punta Gorda, Florida and became active in the Punta Gorda First United Methodist Church, continuing to sing in the choir and participate in Bible studies and women’s groups, especially her beloved Dixie’s Chicks who went to dinner every Friday.
She was also an avid bridge player, enjoying the game throughout her life and even playing online with friends. Jayne spent hours each day in prayer, meditation, and Bible study. She was known for her unwavering faith in God, her beautiful eyes, and warm smile.
Jayne was a devoted wife, mother, and friend, known for her love and kindness. Her life was a testament to these qualities that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
A memorial service will be held at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home with burial at Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg, Ohio Tuesday, October 28 at 11 am, with visitation an hour prior to the service. Arrangements are being handled by Harrison-Pyles. A luncheon will follow at Fred’s in Wheelersburg.
