1949 - 2026

Robert Malcolm LangWith great sadness w e announce the passing o f the patriarch o f our family, Robert Malcolm Lang. Surrounded by his loving wife Debbie, his family, and loved ones, Robert left his earthly body of 76 years on Wednesday, January 28", 2026, a t OSU Wexner Medical Center i n Columbus, Ohio. Born September 22, 1949, t o Simon Clifford and Irene Ruth Bauer Lang, Robert made his entrance t o this world following his twin sister in a farmhouse on Lang Slocum Road, o n Langs Farm i n Wheelersburg, Ohio. Robert spent his childhood making many memories with his brother & sisters, and close friends. He was of the Catholic faith, and was raised attending St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church i n Wheelersburg. His educational years were spent a t Notre Dame Catholic School and Wheelersburg school. Although quiet b y nature, Robert was no stranger to orneriness. Whether i t b e with his brother or close friend Larry, he always kept his sweet mother o n her toes. When Robert entered the workforce, he worked for Empire Detroit Steel, Delmas Conley Trucking, worked with his brother a t Lang Truck and Trailer Service, and then eventually retiring from the Scioto County Engineers Garage a s garage supervisor. Robert developed quite the reputation for being the best diesel mechanic around, but was also a skilled equipment operator. An accurate description o f Robert would pen him as 'the guy who could fix anything!' Although retired in the official capacity, Robert could often be found helping his son i n the truck garage, rebuilding a tractor, lawn mower, o r motor o f some type, making anything broken down run like new again along with making the running stuff run even better, or just tinkering o r piddling in his garage. Robert was by far the hardest worker, one o f the smartest a t solving problems, and as modest as they come. I f he heard himself being described this way, he would just shake his head, shrug his shoulders, and smile. Robert i s survived by his loving wife, Debbie Lang, whom he married on July 4*, 1996, i n Wheelersburg. He has 3 children and their spouses who love him dearly. Daughter Tina Lang and Mark, sons Tim Lang and Kelly, and Greg Lang and Robin. He has 6 grandchildren who adore him, Meagan Lang and Chad, Timothy Robert 'T' Lang, Morgan Lang Huffstetler and Jr., Jacob Lang and Kady, Todd Lang, and Miya Inman. He also has 7 great grandchildren who thought h e hung the moon, Emmett Hall, Ryker & Millie Ann Lang, Aliza Jo and Kase Robert Lang, Jadyn Harris, and Skylar Huffstetler. Robert i s also survived by his 4 loved sisters, Ruth Ann Braurer, Nancy Cottle, his twin sister Rita Petersen and Tom, and Theresa Leake and Guy. He has 3 sisters in law and 2 brothers in law who thought the world o f him. Vicki Lee and Darryl, Dianna Mamas, and Joy Mensch and Don. He also has many nieces and nephews that were very special t o him. He was preceded i n death by his parents, his brother and sister in law, Donal Lang and Sue, brother in law, Steve Cottle, nephew Adam Leake, great nephew Tyler Lang, and brother i n law, Arthur Winn. Robert also leaves behind many friends. H e was respected for his work ethic, admired for his love o f his family, and well known for his quiet demeanor. He was liked b y anyone who knew him and leaves a wonderful legacy. I f love could have saved Robert, h e would still b e with us. Memorial visitation for Robert will be Sunday, February 1s', from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. a t Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home i n Wheelersburg, with the recitation o f the rosary beginning at 7:00. Funeral will be Monday, February 2°, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church, also in Wheelersburg, with Father Michael Fulton officiating.
