Shirley Faye Shockley Leadingham, born July 29, 1945 went to live with Jesus February 28, 2012. She was born Martha Faye Ashworth, biological daughter of Samuel and Nora Yeager Ashworth. She was preceded in death by Margaret Ellen Ashworth Cyrus whom she considered her mother and who raised her; her first husband and the love of her life, Donald Lee Shockley; Jack Leadingham, her second husband; and her life-long best friend, Betty Anderson.
Survivors include her two daughters and their husbands, Carol & Tracy Ellis of Chesapeake, Ohio, and Connie & Joe Sanchez of Gautier, MS. She also leaves behind 5 grandchildren, Jason Lee Ellis, Joshua Scott Ellis, Jillian Skye Ellis, Joseph Alires Sanchez, and Jessica Marie Sanchez, 2 great grandsons, Braiden Joshua Ellis, and Joshua Archer Ellis. The family would like to publicly thank the St. Marys nursing team that took excellent care of her on the 3rd & 6th floors. Additionally, her friends, Frank Smith, who helped her with errands, Dave Martin, & Trina Carter who helped her with many things including her beloved animals, Ebby, Nemo, Tom, & Shady. Funeral Services to be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday March 1, 2012 at Hall Funeral Home in Proctorville, Ohio by Pastor Rod Justice. Visitation will be from 12-2 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
