1953 - 2015

Bruce C. SchofieldBruce Carter Schofield Jr. 61, of Council Bluffs, Iowa passed Thursday, January 8, 2015 in Grand Rapids, MI surrounded by his loved ones. He was born June 04, 1953 in Fort Bragg, NC, the son of Bruce Carter Schofield Sr. and Sara Elizabeth Locke. He was raised in Wyman, MI with his six siblings. At 15, he moved to Milton-Free Water, OR. He graduated in 1971 from Mc Laughlin Union High School (MAC-HI). He proudly served in the United State Army. Bruce Schofield Jr. and Kathleen Fulcher were married in Milton Free-Water, OR in 1971. They moved to Hermiston, OR and raised their three children. In 1978 he started his career with Union Pacific Rail Road at Hinkle yard in Hermiston, OR. In 1990 he was transferred to Omaha, NE. Bruce and Kathy settled in Crescent, IA, just outside of Omaha and built a large home together (a source of great pride for him). Who knew Gods plans to fill that home? In 1996 they received four more blessings and raised their nieces and nephew there. Bruce retired after 35 years as a communication technician for Union Pacific in 2013. His hobbies included: race car driving, building and fixing cars, fabricating tools, and helping friends and family fix things. He loved to read, woodworking, computers, flying model airplanes, and Ham Radio. Whatever his endeavor, he perfected! His most recent conquest, mastered with pride, was grandbaby diaper changing. He will be missed by his father, Bruce Schofield Sr.; his wife, Kathleen Sue Fulcher Schofield; children, William Schofield, Regina Hinz, Bruce Schofield III, Sara Wolke, Amanda Kazemba, Melissa Kliever, and Micah Schofield; grandchildren, Callie, Chase, Isiah, Adam, Luke, Kira, RayLynn, Aubrey, and Kadence; siblings, Joan Brune, Jackie Schofield, Loretta Telfor, and Phillip Schofield; and by a large extended family. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sara Locke Brown; his brothers, Howard Schofield and Lynn Schofield; and grandparents, aunts, and uncles. A memorial service was held Saturday January 10, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Beth Haven Baptist Church in Sheridan, MI. Another service will be held in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Burial will be in the spring at Evergreen Cemetery in Sheridan, MI.

So sad to hear of this. I had no idea that Bruce had passed until just the other day.

You have my sympathy on the loss of your loved one. Please allow God to comfort you through His promise to care for our dead loved ones at John 5:28,29. It is so stressful to deal with the death of a loved one because Death was never supposed to be a part of life so God didn't create us with the ability to be content with this loss but our loving creator, Jehovah God, promises to do away with death {Isaiah 25:8} and the one who causes death Satan{Hebrews 2:14} real soon through His Kingdom in the hands of His Son Christ Jesus so that His purpose for mankind can be realized which is to live on a paradise earth under perfect and peaceful conditions. {Genesis 1:27,28; Psalms 37:9-11,29}
