1934 - 2015

Dean  Earhart Dean H. Earhart age 80 of Lakeview passed away Thursday March 19 2015 at Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus. He was born October 27, 1934 in Oakland CA the son of Harold W. and Aileen (Inghram) Earhart, who preceded him in death. He was also proceeded in death by his sister Janet Shives and his parents-in-law, Frank and Esther Drews.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Janet Drews Earhart, whom he married on September 1, 1957 at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Greenville. Also surviving are his daughter, Lori Earhart of Lakeview, his son and daughter in law, Greg and Julie Earhart of Ada and adored Grandson, Douglas Dean Earhart of Minneapolis, MN.

Dean was a graduate of Edmore High School in 1952 and attended Michigan Tech. He joined the US Army in 1954 and served in the occupation of Germany. After service he enrolled in the Butterworth Hospital School of Radiology. Upon graduation he was employed at Lakeview Medical Center/Kelsey Hospital for 40 years, as manager and head technologist of the Radiology Department. Dean was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Sidney, serving on the council, and he served on the United/Kelsey Hospital board and is a retired member of ARRT.

Dean was a voracious reader, amateur photographer, and enjoyed all electronic gadgets, history and discovery channels and anything about space, airplanes and WW II. Dean loved anything his grandson did in sports including 14 years of watching him play hockey all over Michigan.

A Memorial service will be held on April 17, 2015 at Faith Lutheran Church Sidney at 11 AM with associate in ministry Bernice Sorrels serving as officiant. Visitation will be from 10 AM to 11 AM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Tamarack District Library, Lakeview, Faith Lutheran Church Sidney or the American Lung Association
