Donald “Don” Ray Moore
WHEELERSBURG-Donald “Don” Ray Moore, 67, passed peacefully at his home in Wheelersburg, Ohio on Tuesday, December 5, 2023. Don was born July 12, 1956 in Ross County to Jesse and Mary Crum Moore. Don grew up in Wheelersburg and attended South Webster Locals Schools. As a young boy, he helped work at the family-owned sawmill. As he got older, he worked in construction as a laborer for Armco and J&H Erectors. Later he worked for a Formica countertop company in Portsmouth, Ohio. Don was also known to be very good at working and building things with wood. His projects were done with great care and precision. Anyone that knew Don knew that he would get the job done, but he wasn’t always the fastest. Don is survived by three brothers: Jim (Oma) Moore of Franklin Furnace, Bob (Charlotte) Moore of Jackson, Tom (Debbie) Moore of Minford and sisters-in-law, Teresa (Bill) Moore of Wheelersburg and Pamela (Richard) Moore of Lafayette, Georgia. He also left behind many nieces, nephews, other family members and an abundance of friends. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Mary Crum Moore and siblings, Toby Moore, Thelma Ferrell, Janet Ferguson, Bill Moore and Richard Moore.
Services for Don will be held at 12:00 pm Friday, December 8, 2023 at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg with Jeremy Moore (nephew) officiating. A visitation is planned two hours prior to the service. The burial will be at the family homeplace in Wheelersburg, Ohio. Condolences to the family may be made at www.harrison-pyles.com.
