WHEELERSBURG-Linda Lee (Gullett) Layne, 75, of Wheelersburg went to her heavenly rest on March 18, 2024. Linda was born October 11, 1948, to the late Paris and Jean Gullett of Wheelersburg.

Linda, a 1966 graduate of Wheelersburg High School, began working at Deemer’s Market after graduation. In the late 1970’s, Linda drove the ambulance for Vernon Township and volunteered with the Vernon Township Ladies Auxiliary. She returned to Deemer’s in 1984 to work out her 27 years of service and then spent several years caring for her grandchildren. Linda also spent time working as a substitute carrier for the US Postal Service.

From 1984 through 2000, Linda volunteered with the Wheelersburg High School Band Boosters and was affectionately known as a loving “Band Mom” and friend to many throughout the years. In her pastime, Linda enjoyed reading, walking and exercising, spending time with family, boasting about her children and grandkids, gardening, enjoying chocolate ice cream, and watching sports especially football, baseball, and hockey.

Linda is survived by children Kristi (Jim) Meadows, James (Maria) Layne, and Sarah (David) Warren and brother, Jim (Kim) Gullett. Linda also leaves behind grandchildren, Chris (Amanda) Meadows, Tim (Damon) Meadows, Andrew Meadows, Jessie (Ryan) Ratcliffe, Jamie (Kaleb) Cihon, Alexis Warren, Jennah (Ethan) Herdman, Laynah Kiser, Madison Layne, Emily Layne, and Kaylah Warren along with great grandchildren, Ariana, Carter, and Zoey. Linda is preceded in death by siblings, Dorinda Gullett and Robert Gullett.

The family would like to express gratitude to the Porter Township EMS and SOMC ER, Progressive Care Unit and Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SOMC Hospice.
