Pastor Michael L. Ansell Click for Condolences      Printable Version
1942 - 2025

Pastor Michael L. AnsellPastor Michael L. Ansell, 82, of Barboursville, WV, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2025, beside the love of his life, Linda Ansell.

He was greeted in Heaven by his parents, Luther and Gladys Ansell; his sister, Annetta Poling; and his beloved dog, Ginger, who no doubt alerted the angels he was on his way with thunderous barking.

He is survived by his wife and best friend, Linda Amos Ansell; his daughters, Barbra Frye (Dan Ware) of Huntington and Amanda Ansell (Ashlea Loy) of Charleston, WV; his son, Gary Ansell (Susan Lindsay) of Springboro, OH; and two granddaughters, Sarah Altizer and Alexandra Ansell.

Mike never sought the spotlight, but he lit up every room he entered. He served honorably in the U.S. Air Force and later retired from Special Metals. His greatest work, though, was as a pastor. He led with a gentle spirit and unwavering devotion to Jesus Christ. His greatest sermon was the life he lived.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Wallace Funeral Home in Barboursville, with Rev. Greg Milum officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may visit from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service, with a reception to follow at the Barboursville Senior Center nearby.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Covenant Pentecostal Church, 3731 State Route 7, Chesapeake, OH 45619, in his name. Condolences can be shared with the family at www.timeformemory.com/wallace.

Though his soul has entered Heaven, his love still ministers - in the stories we tell, the kindness we show, and the faith he lived so well. May we all be more like Mike.

Thinking of your family during this difficult time. Jack and Mike worked together for the C& O railroad in Huntington. We always enjoyed visiting with Mike and Linda and our daughters played together. Wonderful memories ……..

My sincere condolences, thoughts and prayers. Mike was like the dad I never had I always felt like part of something good when I could spend the night or weekend at the home they welcomed me in with arms wide open. I cherish those memories. Rest In Peace Man of God.

My name is Don, though I didn’t know Pastor Mike Ansell, his love for Jesus, his wife Linda, his love for his beloved Ginger, speak volumes of the man he was. As a believer, disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ, let us all live a life of devotion to Jesus. Xa3

Mike (known as “Ansell’s Dad”) was such a kind, loving man and father. My thoughts are with all of you in this hard time but be comforted that he loved everyone so much and would want this to be a time of happy remembrances and nostalgia for all the happy times. Much love, Utah
